Makita makes traditional cord-based tools such as circular saws, drills and cutters, but makes a also a line of cordless battery powered tools. The Makita battery fits a variety of tools, including drills, saws, and torches. "All that built up charge"??? When you charge a battery, they tend to hold that charge till you drain them. What do you plan to do with a dead one? What ever, just remove the battery, and if nothing else, "short" a light bulb (two wires on it) across the battery terminals. The bulb will light and become a variable resistance across the battery, discharging it in a controlled fashion.
